Levels

There is no free official list of Spanish words by level, so these levels are bands of the most common words: how often each is said, counted in the subtitles of films and television (OpenSubtitles, 2018, as FrequencyWords counts them), every form of a word counted for it. They are not the CEFR's A1 to C2.

• The 500 most common words 500 words

  The words said most, by the count of film and television subtitles.

• Words 501–1,000 500 words

  The next 500 most common words.

• Words 1,001–2,000 1,000 words

  The next thousand.

• Words 2,001–3,000 1,000 words

  The next thousand.

• Words 3,001–5,000 2,000 words

  The next two thousand.
